Artificial Reality Continuum and its applications to film, healthcare, arts, sciences

Artificial Reality Continuum (ARC) is a term that describes a spectrum of immersive technologies that stimulates perception.

In this keynote, I describe the history and the current state-of-the-art for ARC technologies and discuss its applications in film, entertainment, and healthcare.

The projects presented include “Hamlet”, an AI actor taking direction in Virtual Reality, a brainwaves-based augmented reality art, a remote class participating system, and a telehealth project that uses mixed-reality for expert-novice healthcare communications.
